LXI chassis deliver high cooling capacity
Keywords:LXI chassis? cooling feature? switching module?
Each chassis offers high cooling capacity and smart control of fan speed to ensure quiet operation in office and laboratory environments and high reliability under heavy load conditions. The current condition of the chassis is displayed on front panel status LEDs and can also be monitored remotely via a rear panel RS232 port
The 60-102 and 60-103 are 7 and 18 slot modular chassis that accept from a choice of over 500 Pickering Interfaces 3U PXI modules. This includes a huge range of switching modules together with additional test functions such as programmable power supplies, battery simulators, attenuators, digital I/O, breadboards and programmable resistor cards.
The range of switching modules supported vary from low power reed relay cards used for low current applications through to matrices, multiplexer and a range of higher power EMR relay products to RF/microwave and optical switches. Pickering offers high density matrices with up to 9,500 relays per chassis. Solid state switching with up to 40A current capacity is supported along with a range of high voltage switching modules. The variety of modules available allows the chassis to be used for a wide variety of switching, control and sensor emulation applications.
The LXI complaint interface permits simple control of the modules and management of the chassis through web pages or an IVI programmatic interface. Ethernet access ensures that the control is robust and simple to access over short or long connection distances.
"The 60-102 and 60-103 also has the additional benefit of offering the existing PXI user he option of porting their existing Pickering PXI cards over to a LXI Modular Chassis, so giving the user a full web browser interface, Ethernet LAN control, chassis hot swap and a voltage isolated control bus all using the ubiquitous Ethernet port available on any Windows PCfeatures not available with existing PXI chassis," David Owen, business development manager for Pickering.
