Performance Technologies announced the availability of two new communication controllers, the AMC304 and AMC305 AdvancedMC (AMC) modules for deployment in telecom, aerospace and defense, and commercial markets requiring time-division multiplexing (TDM) communication controllers in an AMC form factor. Both AMCs are fully integrated with the company's NexusWare, Carrier Grade Linux OS and development environment, and a complete suite of integrated communications protocols including MTP2 (SS7), HDLC, ISDN, X.25, and Frame Relay. The combination provides equipment manufactures with a highly cost-effective approach to rapid product integration and deployment designed to help improve bottom-line results.

Each AMC module features four individually selectable T1/E1/J1 connections and provides the ability to deliver a wide range of VoIP, wireless, and IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) infrastructure application elements. Both feature a Freescale MPC8560 PowerQUICCIII processor running at 833MHz and up to 1Gbyte of SDRAM. PCIe and gigabit Ethernet enable rapid exchange of payload information. TDM traffic can be transmitted to other modules in a system via an I-TDM-over-Ethernet interface that is available on the AMC305 model only.
