AC/DC power supplies boast energy efficiency stamps

AEB series

XP Power has released the AEB series of energy efficient external AC/DC power supplies aimed at desktop and portable applications. The series, comprising 36-, 45- and 70W models, meet current U.S. and European energy efficiency standards including those of CEC 2008, EISA and the European Code of Conduct concerning energy using products. The units are highly efficient, typically more than 85 percent, resulting in less wasted energy.

The compact and low profile units, measuring just 110cm x 50cm x 20cm for the AEB36, 36W model, offer a wide range of single output voltage options. The AEB45 and AEB70 models provide +12-, +15-, +18-, +19-, +24- or + 48Vdc outputs. The AEB36 offers +5-, +9-, +12-, +13.5-, +15-, +18-, +24- or +48Vdc outputs. There are a total of 20 models within the AEB series.

The AEB series offers an extended operating temperature range, up to +60C with derating and full power output available at +40C.

The units are compliant with UL 609650-1 and EN60950-1:2001 safety standards and the AEB36 and AEB70 meet the requirements of the China Compulsory Certification. Most of the models also comply with standards for a Limited Power Source. The power supplies also meet the requirements of EN55022 and FCC part 15 C Level B emission standards for conducted and radiated noise. Output protection features include overvoltage, overload and short circuit.

The AEB is available from Newark or direct from XP Power. Pricing for AEB36 is $28.86 in OEM quantities.
