Bus port protect arrays tout low capacitance, leakage current
Keywords:ESD? protection array? bus port? low capacitance current leakage?

Vishay Intertechnology Inc. has released two new compact 2-line and 4-line ESD-protection arrays with low capacitance and leakage current for the protection of high-speed data lines against transient voltage signals.
Featuring an ultralow profile of 0.6mm for board space savings, the two-line VBUS052CD-FAH is packaged in the leadless LLP1713, while the 4-line VBUS054CD-FHI is packaged in the LLP2513. The protection arrays feature a "flow through" design that supports the surge resistance requirements for high-speed data lines in applications such as USB 2.0, HDMI, display ports, eSATA and 1394/Firewire in HDTVs and mobile electronics, including portable gaming systems, MP3 players and cellphones.
The new devices have a low load capacitance of 0.8pF and a low maximum leakage current of The bus port protection arrays provide transient protection for data lines as per IEC 61000 4 2 (ESD) at 15kV (air and contact discharge). The Pb-free devices offer pure tin pin plating and a halogen-free molding compound, and their soldering can be checked by standard vision inspection without X-rays. The arrays are compliant with RoHS 2002/95/EC and WEEE 2002/96/EC.
Samples of the new 2-line and 4-line ESD bus port-protection arrays are available now. Production quantities will be available in Q1 09, with lead times of 10 weeks for large orders.
