New Japan Radio Co. Ltd has launched the NJU26207 DSP with Dolby Volume decoder designed for digital TVs and sound bars speaker system.

The NJU26207 features volume leveler, volume modeler and delay functions. The volume leveler ensures that sound level is stable and reduces the difference in volume level in hearing. The volume modeler compensates for volume level depending on the playing levels controlling all band frequency within audible ranges and takes suitable match between volume balance and sound quality. The delay function clears time lag when Dolby volume switches on/off in sounds.

The Dolby Volume clears the difference in volume level that occurs in input sources when switched between TV progress and CM. And due to volume modeler, it recreates mix-balance producers in case of replay in a small volume.

The NJU26207 is 24bit 100MIPS fixed point DSP with an operating voltage core of 1.8V. The device has a maximum system clock frequency of 12.28MHz (max.) and a built-in PLL circuit. The NJU26207 is housed is a 11mm x 7.6mm x 1.15mm Pb-free package. Samples will be available by February 2009 and mass production begins on April. Sample price is JPY 500 ($5.53).
