MediaTek opens new office in Hyderabad

MediaTek Inc. inaugurates its new office in Hyderabad. Located in Hi-Tech City, the second largest IT hub in India, MediaTek's operation in the new office will help design and deliver the company's fabless semiconductor solutions to wireless communications applications.

"This is our second design center in India (the first center is already fully operational in NOIDA). The Hyderabad Design Team is poised to make significant contribution in the continuous success and growth of MediaTek to become a world leader in the fabless semi-conductor wireless communication chip market," said Grant Kuo, managing director of MediaTek India.

The current total number of employees at the Hyderabad office is 28 and will grow to 50 employees. MediaTek is strengthening its base in India and is playing a major role in enhancing technology base and providing service to the telecom industry. Some of its clients in India include FLY Mobile, Usha Lexus, Onida, MicroMax, LG and Spice. The company designs and develops SoC system solutions for wireless communications, high-definition DTV, optical storage and HD DVD products.
