Vishay Intertechnology Inc. has unveiled a new high-temperature 1W surface-mount power metal strip resistor in a 2010 case size that operates over a temperature range of -65C to +275C. The WSLT2010...18 resistor features a very low 10m? to 500m? resistance value range, a tight tolerance down to 0.5 percent, and low TCR values down to 75 ppm/C.

The high-temperature capability and high power ratings (double the standard WSL rating) of the WSLT2010...18 allow it to be used for current sensing and pulse applications in harsh, high-temperature environments without sacrificing power rating or electrical performance.

The range of systems into which the WSLT2010...18 will be designed includes automotive engine and transmission controls, audio electronics, climate controls, anti-lock brakes; and industrial oil/gas well drilling, including down hole test/measurement equipment.

The WSLT2010...18 features all-welded construction with a solid metal nickel-chrome alloy resistive element with low TCR of Samples and production quantities of the new resistor are available now, with a lead time of four to six weeks for larger orders.
