Hewlett-Packard has invested RM1.5 million in its new HP Adaptive Infrastructure Discovery Centre (AIDC) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, according to a report by local news agency Bernama.

The center was launched to cater to the needs of customers on maintaining their IT infrastructure especially during the current economic downturn, the report further shared.

Raymond Yap, HP Malaysia's marketing manager, said that under the economic slowdown, customers were looking to cut costs, reduce risk and leverage IT resources to gain greater advantage.

Yap noted that the centertogether with the HP Adaptive Infrastructure (AI) initiativewill deliver integrated product and service set needed for comprehensive management and non-stop operations for next-generation technology environments, according to the report.

"HP is building on its AI initiative by delivering innovative data center technologies to meet customers' technology challenges today, and to help them emerge strong when the economy improves," Yap said.

The Kuala Lumpur AIDC is one of the four new centers that HP established, with the other three located in France, Germany and the United States, the report noted.
