Renesas Technology Corp. stockholders have voted to liquidate subsidiary company Key Stream Corp. Key Stream has been dissolved and corporate liquidation procedures have begun.

Key Stream developed and sold extremely low-power WLAN chipsets and related software, and Renesas invested in the company since January 2007. Since then, these two companies have jointly developed and marketed WLAN solutions that combine Key Stream WLAN chipsets with Renesas microcontroller and SoC devices.

Based on the currently difficult business environment and its affect on increasing future business, the company recognized that it would be difficult for Key Stream to continue in business independently; therefore, Key Stream's WLAN business was transferred to Renesas on April 1. Since the operations associated with the transfer of the main business have been completed, Renesas has decided to break up and liquidate Key Stream. Renesas will continue to provide customer support and other services for this business on an ongoing basis.
