The new CMX991 is designed to meet the global requirements of electronics designers, who are searching for a low-cost integrated transceiver device, which offers consistently precise RF signal processing. Specifically tailored for flexible operation from 1GHz right down to 100MHz, the transceiver addresses an area that is not adequately covered by existing devices on the market.
The new RF transceiver IC suites both narrowband and wideband wireless productsup to 2MHz RF channels, including multi-mode analog/digital terminals, digital software defined radio for portable, mobile and base station designs. Intended applications include APCO Project 25 (Phase 1 and 2), ETSI DMR (TS 102 361), general-purpose wireless data applications and satellite communication systems.
The CMX991 integrates the core functions to implement a high performance RF transceiver subsystem, with I/Q architecture capable of supporting multiple modulation types and bandwidth. Features include high intermodulation performance, on-chip 1st mixer, direct access to transmit and receive IF sections and a flexible selection of external components for multi-mode operation. A low IF output mode is supported in the receiver for designers using 'Sample at IF' techniques. The CMX991 provides maximum integration and minimum overall manufacturing BOM cost.
The CMX991 is available now with a quantity guide price of $10, operates at 3.3V (1.8V I/O) and comes in a 48-pin VQFN package. For designers wishing to experiment with the product, an evaluation kit (EV9910B) is readily available from CML.
