IR1168 is a smart secondary-side driver IC designed to drive the two N-Channel power MOSFETs used as synchronous rectifiers in isolated DC/DC resonant converters. The IC can control one or more paralleled MOSFETs to emulate the behavior of Schottky diode rectifiers. Ruggedness and noise immunity are accomplished using an advanced blanking scheme and double-pulse suppression, which allow reliable operation in both fixed and variable frequency modes. The drain to source voltage of the MOSFET is sensed differentially to determine the level of the current and the device is turned on and off in close proximity of the zero current transition.
