Maxim Integrated Products has revealed four LDO linear regulators that operate from a 1.425V to 3.6V input voltage. The MAX15027 and MAX15028 deliver up to 1A, while the MAX15029 and MAX15030 deliver 500mA of output current.

Also, the MAX15028 and MAX15030 feature a bias input that allows the devices to be powered from an independent supply, making them suitable for always-on power supplies in automotive applications. The bias input allows the regulator's input to reduce current to a mere 2A (max) during shutdown. These regulators dissipate up to 1.9W at +70C and are ideal for a wide range of applications, such as networking, storage, server and telecom equipment.

The regulators offer 2 percent accuracy over line, load and temperature, and dropout voltage as low as 75mV for the MAX15027 and MAX15028 or 40mV for the MAX15029 and MAX15030, under a full load. Other features include a capacitor-adjustable soft-start input, an enable input and an adjustable feedback input to set the output voltage from 0.5V to 3.3V.

They come in 3mm x 3mm, thermally enhanced, 10-pin TDFN package and are fully specified over the -40C to +125C automotive temperature range. Prices start at $0.90 (1,000-up, FOB USA).
