Antenova Ltd has expanded its gigaNOVA range of surface mount antennas with the addition of the Reflexus A10315 and Calvus A10340. The two new cellular penta-band SMD antennas are designed for ease of integration into wireless devices. They are suited for embedded cellular applications such as mobile handsets, femto base stations, vehicle tracking, remote monitoring and other M2M applications.

Greg McCray, CEO of Antenova, noted that there is strong demand for high performing and easy to integrate standard cellular antennas for the ever expanding wireless device market. "Both Reflexus and Calvus are high performance penta-band antennas offering the ease of integration benefits of a surface mountable device that has not been offered in the industry until now. Reflexus A10315 antenna which incorporates Antenova's patented complementary antenna technology is extremely resistant to de-tuning and offers reliable, robust, performance across all device applications. Calvus is an SMD version of our existing Flavus GSM internal snap-in antenna, offering Flavus customers the same good performance with the flexibility to switch to an SMD device if required. These standard penta-band antennas offer design flexibility and are particularly suited for module makers targeting the growing M2M market and device manufacturers looking to add cellular connectivity into their products," he said.

Reflexus A10315 is suitable for GSM, GPRS and UMTS applications and covers the GSM850/900/1800/1900 and W-CDMA frequencies. It provides resistance to de-tuning and offers predictable performance in customer devices. The device measures 40mm x10mm x 3.2mm and is intended for surface mounting and requires minimal ground plane.

Calvus A10340 penta-band antenna is a surface mountable version of Antenova's Flavus snap-in cellular antenna suitable for GSM, GPRS and UMTS applications and also covers the GSM850/900/1800/1900 and W-CDMA frequencies. At 27mm x 8mm x 3.2mm size Calvus is also intended for surface mounting and requires minimal ground plane to operate efficiently.

Reflexus and Calvus are supplied in tape on reel and available for volume purchase through Antenova's global network of distributors and agents.
