NJM2287 gain control amp

New Japan Radio Co. Ltd has introduced the NJM2287 450KHz IF gain control amplifier IC with mixer for digital radio equipments.

The NJM2287 integrates second mixer, variable gain amplifier, RSSI circuit, suitable for digital radio equipments employing IF gain control. The NJM2287 also sensitivity increasing in signal receiving, miniaturization and cost reduction by circuit optimizing, wide gain control range and rail-to-rail output with high driving capacity.

The amplifier also achieves stable signal reception at wide electromagnetic field range by wide gain control range, above 80dB. Therefore, the cheaper and low-bit ADC connecting back step of IF AGC, can be employed in designs.

With a mixer available for strong signal input, the high frequency amplifier connecting front stage of the mixer circuit can raise gain, cutting total noise figure and increasing sensitivity.

The NJM2287 also features low current consumption of 4.7mA (typ.) and low operating voltage of 2.7V to 5.5V. The device also has maximum input frequency of 100MHz and IF input frequency of 450kHz.

Samples of NJM2287 housed in 5mm x 6.4mm x 1.25mm SSOP14 package are now available. Pricing is JPY 900 ($9.53) per unit.
