mini-Frigate receiver module

Asuka Semiconductor Inc. debuts the mini-Frigate, an ultrasmall DVB-T receiver module at 5cm x 2.8cm x 0.58cm, offering very high sensitivity at -91dBm (for 16QAM) and very low power consumption at 1W. The module is equipped with two independently-operated NIM chips from DiBCOM. It accepts signal inputs from antennas, performs all the required DVB-T signal processing, and generates versatile high quality video/audio outputs for display.

The mobility support is up to 300km/hr under German broadcasting environment. These features make mini-Frigate suitable for embedded applications within portable GPS devices, in-car entertainment systems, and many other applications that hope to include mobile TV service to existing products such as cellphones, personal GPS, multimedia players, etc. Besides delivering high sensitivity, the mini-Frigate also offers small dimensions, low power consumption and high mobility support.

Mini-Frigate module is fully compliant with CE and RoHS requirements, and is already in mass production since Q2 09.
