TCXOs deliver 0.5ppm frequency stability
Keywords:crystal oscillator? TCXO? frequency stability?

AVX Corp. has expanded its SMD temperature compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO) series to
include AEC-Q200 approved versions. Designated the KT3225 and KT2520 Wide Temperature series, the ultraminiature oscillators provide tight frequency stability of 0.5ppm over a wide temperature range of -40C to +85C. For more demanding applications such as power amplifiers, the KT3225 and KT2520 Series can provide a frequency stability of +/-3.0ppm over -40C to +105C.
"AVX Kyocera is the largest supplier of temperature compensated crystal oscillator products. These new devices have a superior temperature slope and drift performance thanks to our patent-protected technologies," said Takashi Enomoto, Asian product marketing manager for Kyocera Electronic Devices. "Due to advanced IC and crystal optimization, the new temperature compensated crystal oscillators achieve a lower cost than traditional TCXOs for this temperature range."
Targeted at applications including automotive GPS systems, GPS modules, marine navigation equipment and high-end industrial electronics, the KT3225 and KT2520 Wide Temperature Series TCXOs are available to AEC-Q200 specifications upon request.
The KT3225 measures just 3.2mm x 2.5mm x 1mm, while the KT2520 is only 2.5mm x 2mm x1mm in size and 0.8m high. Both versions cover a frequency range of 13MHz to 52MHz with a supply voltage of 1.7V to 3.5V.
Pricing is set at competitive market levels with a lead time of 14 weeks.
