Fairchild switching solution

Fairchild Semiconductor is rolling out a slew of switches for camera modules in 3G smart phones, cellphones, STBs, security cameras and notebooks that are intended to solve design challenges in these applications.

Fairchild's application-specific solutions provide strong isolation, particularly in higher frequency cellphones and smart phones that need to manage parasitics for optimal signal integrity. As cameras within these phones move to higher resolutions, parasitic components can easily deteriorate signals. Fairchild answered this challenge with the industry's first image module switch, the FSA1211, to isolate parasitic components up to -45dB of OFF isolation.

To comply with multiple camera interface such as MDDI, MIPI and YUV, Fairchild has a number of solutions such as the FSA642.

Design flexibility is offered by Fairchild's ?SerDes solutions. Designers can place the image processor anywhere on the board with the added ability of isolating and serializing using the ?SerDes FIN212 (40MHz) and FIN210 (48MHz).

As 3G phones move to higher frequencies, unwanted EMI is inherently generated. The FSA1211 reduces the radiated EMI of the signal path and also improves RF desense.

In addition, the devices' low on capacitance (6pF typical) accommodates a faster data rate and to lower the overall on capacitance.

The analog, audio, video, camera switches and USB switches are instrumental in minimizing redundant circuitry, eliminating connectors, simplifying design and conserving space in designs. Offered in a variety of functions, configurations, packages and performance levels, Fairchild's switches are pivotal in solving portable and consumer design challenges.
