TransZorb TVS

Vishay Intertechnology Inc. rolls a new series of 1,500W surface-mount TransZorb transient voltage suppressors (TVS). Offering an industry-low profile of 1.1mm, the devices offer breakdown voltages from 6.7V to 42.4V and clamping capability from 10V to 58.1V.

Featuring the eSMP TO-277A package, the TVS devices offer a 27 percent smaller footprint than devices in the traditional SMC package. The SMPC series provides a peak forward surge current of 200A and a temperature range of -55C to + 150C.

The TVS devices are designed to protect sensitive equipment in telecom and general applications from voltage transients induced by inductive load switching, in accordance with IEC61000-4-4 and IEC61000-4-5, and ESD in accordance with IEC61000-4-2.

Suited for automated placement, the SMPC series offers low incremental surge resistance and fast response time. The devices meet MSL Level 1 standards, per J-STD-020C, are compliant to RoHS directive 2002/95/EC and WEEE 2002/96/EC, and are halogen-free in accordance with IEC 61249-2-21.

Samples and production quantities of the new SMPC series are available now, with lead times of six weeks for large orders.
