InnoDisk PCIe SSDs

InnoDisk Corp. debuts PCIe SSD solutions that offer up to 800MBps data transfer rate for read operations and 600MBps for write operations. The devices target enterprise servers, high-end applications, cloud computing, etc.

Currently available SATA II SSDs used with the best bandwidth of 3Gbit/s have hit the bottleneck without possible progress. However, with a PCIe x 16 interface, a bandwidth of 40Gbit/s can be achieved.

According to Vincent Lo, general manager, InnoDisk, the development of PCIe SSD was more difficult than other SATA SSD products. To prepare for the product line, InnoDisk formed its own firmware team three years ago and developed technology to avoid possible conflict within the flash controller, PCIe RAID controller and system chipsets.

InnoDisk's PCIe SSD devices offer up to 2Tbyte adopting the PCIe Gen.1 x 8 standard. It comes with internal RAID allocation function that enables users to program it as one or more disks. InnoDisk Power Guard function allows data to be written into the flash correctly in no time when power is unexpectedly interrupted. And the device is designed to stabilize temperature with efficient convection, so data remains steady.
