Taiwan-based IC Plus Corp. licensed the MIPS32 24KEf Pro synthesizable processor core for next-generation networking devices in the digital home.

"MIPS Technologies' processors offer an ideal balance of price, performance and power, along with optimizations for enabling technologies that are keys for next-generation connected digital home devices," said Albert Liu, VP, R&D Division, IC Plus. "MIPS' considerable ecosystem in the digital home, as well as its foresight and leadership in driving the Android platform into new devices and applications, makes MIPS an important partner as we help our customers develop innovative devices for the fast-growing digital home market."

"As high-resolution, high-bandwidth digital content migrates into new connected devices, designers need processor IP that offers high-performance processing while being scalable to optimize for low power," said Art Swift, VP of marketing for MIPS Technologies. "With the industry's best performance per milliwatt and our broad ecosystem in the digital home and networking, MIPS Technologies' cores are ideal for next-generation converged products."
