Silicon Hive B.V. announced that Intel Corp. will apply its parallel processing technology across mobile and embedded segments based on the Intel Atom processor roadmap. Previously, Intel Capital had led a $7M investment round in Silicon Hive.

Silicon Hive designs, builds and licenses application-specific solutions for imaging, video processing and communications. The company's products enable semiconductor and consumer electronics companies to make fully-programmable SoCs improving time to market performance.

"We are excited to work with Intel to bring Silicon Hive parallel processing technology to the vast ecosystem of Atom-based SoCs and their very broad consumer applications. The strengthening of relationship between Intel and Silicon Hive offers a major growth opportunity for Silicon Hive and takes us further in our vision of mass-deployment of Silicon Hive's technology for consumer benefit," said Atul Sinha CEO of Silicon Hive.

"Since its launch in 2008, the Intel Atom processor has generated strong growth for the company across mobile and embedded segments," said Pankaj Kedia, director of global ecosystem programs in Intel Corp.'s ultra mobility group. "Intel's collaboration with Silicon Hive has the potential to enable significantly richer media experiences as we evolve our Atom roadmap to meet the needs of the smart phone and embedded market segments."
