Texas Instruments Inc. debuts the SN75LVCP412A , a low-power, two-channel SATA 3Gbit/s redriver and signal conditioner that can extend the interconnect distance between a SATA host and an eSATA connector. It targets mobile and computing applications.

The SN75LVCP412A provides the industry's most aggressive low-power feature, which automatically puts the device in low-power mode (battery life for mobile applications. The SN75LVCP412A supports applications like notebooks, desktop PCs, docking and workstations, STBs and servers.

The automatic low-power mode is activated when the platform is not connected to an external HDD. It's IEC61000-4-2 level qualified (8kV contact and 15kV air discharge) on high-speed pins provides added protection against ESD transients at the eSATA connector. The SN75LVCP412A is part of a family of products that complements TI's high-speed re-driver portfolio targeting notebook and desktop PC applications.

The SN75LVCP412A comes in a QFN package (20-pin RTJ reel, large and small) at a suggested resale price of $1.65 in 1,000-unit quantities. Samples and volume production quantities are available now.
