CAT8710 voltage supervisor

ON Semiconductor has extended its line of voltage supervisors with the CAT8710, a smaller and space-efficient alternative to many existing solutions. Applications for this device include computing, gaming consoles, STBs, communications and industrial control equipment.

Designed for simultaneously monitoring multiple voltages in microprocessor or ASIC based systems, the CAT8710 can be operated from a supply voltage of 1.5V to 5.5V and draws just 3?A; typically consuming 10 percent of the power required for similar competing products. By integrating four voltage level monitors into a single, six-pin, SOT-23 package, the CAT8710 provides an extremely space-efficient solution that occupies approximately 25 percent of the board space compared to four individually packaged devices. ON Semiconductor has ensured maximum flexibility for design engineers by incorporating two factory preset thresholds for monitoring 3.3-, 3-, 2.5- and 1.8V supplies within 5 percent, and two that are customer programmable using external resistors and adjustable down to 0.62V.

"The CAT8710 quad-voltage supervisor excels in these two areas while also giving design engineers a high degree of flexibility with both preset and programmable monitors."

The CAT8710 is available in a Pb-free, RoHS-compliant six-pin SOT-23 package and is priced at $0.56 per unit in 10,000 unit quantities. Samples are available now. Projected lead-time for production quantities is currently eight to 12 weeks after receipt of order.
