Wipro taps Mentor tools to reduce design time
Keywords:IC design? physical verification? automation tool?
The key objective in this technology adoption was the continued success witnessed in their physical verification and PCB design projects using Mentor tools. By using the tools Board Station, Expedition and XtremePCB, Wipro has been able to reduce design cycles of customers' products by over 40 percent, leading to a strong time-to-market advantage for electronic product companies.
In the IC implementation area, Wipro has been taking advantage of Mentor IC implementation solutions to address a number of key challenges. The TestKompress Xpress technology has been adopted in different teams in Wipro for customer projects and is seen to provide test pattern compression greater than 100x without sacrificing test coverage. Wipro acknowledges that the Questa verification platform is being used by its teams to address growing challenges in the SystemVerilog and complex SoC verification space. Wipro has also been using the Mentor Design-to-Silicon (D2S) platform with accuracy and performance improvements in Deep Sub Micron technologies.
"Advances in the electronics industry are causing PCBs to become increasingly complex and challenging to design," said Prasad Bhatt, VP of semiconductor and system solutions, Wipro. "With Mentor Graphics' PCB design solutions like Board Station, Expedition and XtremePCB, we were able to reduce design cycles by over 40 percent and also address key challenges to meet market demands, facilitate global collaboration, accelerate time-to-market, increase margins, and improve PCB reliability."
"Mentor is committed to a long-term strategic alliance with Wipro to ensure we meet their design automation needs," said Hanns Windele, VP, Europe and India at Mentor. "Effective EDA solutions for advanced IC and system design is essential to Wipro's overall success, and working with partners who use our tools to deliver solutions to the marketplace is fundamental to Mentor's business model."
