Extreme Engineering Solutions Inc. has released XPedite5470, a high-performance 3U OpenVPX single-board computer (SBC) with Freescale QorIQ P4080 processor featuring eight Power Architecture e500 cores at up to 1.5GHz.

Additional features include 8Gbyte DDR3-1333 ECC SDRAM in two channels; 256Mbyte NOR and 16Gbyte NAND flash: hardware write-protection for NVRAM; serial RapidIO, x4 PCIe, Serdes Gigabit Ethernet interconnects; and Ethernet and serial ports.

X-ES is offering Freescale's QorIQ P4080 in five additional form factors: 3U CompactPCI, PMC/XMC, VME, 6U VPX, and 6U CompactPCI. To satisfy a wide customer range from telecommunications to MIL-STD 810F military requirements, all of X-ES's P4080 products are engineered to scale from air-cooled commercial (0C to 55C) to full conduction-cooled (-40C to +85C) with appropriate shock and vibration testing. Linux, Wind River VxWorks, QNX Neutrino, and Green Hills INTEGRITY Board Support Packages are available.

The XPedite5470 priced at $9,200. Pricing will vary based on volume, configuration and ruggedization level. The SBC is available in limited quantities for development; production hardware is expected to be available in Q4.
