VIA adopts Chips&Media HD video core

Via Technologies Inc. has adopted Chips&Media Inc.'s BodaHx6R video engine. The x86 processor provider selected the Chips&Media low-power processor to ensure support for latest Blu-ray titles decoding with VC1 and H.264 codec and boost MPEG-2 and WMV video decoding.

The BodaHx6R provides multistandard video decoding capabilities with DxVA hardware acceleration. It supports 1080p decoding at 30fps with minimal power consumption and host processor loading.
