600W TVS diode

NXP Semiconductors has expanded its transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diodes portfolio with 35 new products housed in its two-lead FlatPower package SOD128 (3.8mm x 2.5mm x 1mm). The company is offering 600W peak pulse power rating (10/1000?s) TVS diode in such a small plastic SMD package. Alternative 600W TVS products in the market are only available in much larger packages like SMA or SMB. The new SOD128 FlatPower package fits on a SMB footprint allowing a 1:1 replacement and enabling engineers to save space on the PCB while delivering optimum power performance.

The new TVS diodes are designed to protect sensitive components against transient voltages in various electronic applications such as power management units and telecommunication circuits. Qualified with the rigorous AEC-Q101 standard, the new FlatPower TVS devices can be used for all automotive and industrial applications. Due to the very low leakage current of only 1nA (typical), the new PTVS series reduces energy consumption and facilitates its use in battery powered mobile applications. The very low height and small outline dimensions save PCB space and allow further miniaturization of circuit designs.

The new 600W product family PTVS P1UP offers 35 stand-off voltages from 3.3V to 64V. It extends NXP's 400W TVS product family PTVS S1UR that is housed in the even smaller FlatPower package SOD123W with an outline of 2.6mm x 1.7mm x 1mm.

SOD128 and SOD123W are free of halogens and antimony oxides and comply with non-flammability classification UL94 V-0 and RoHS standards.

NXP's new TVS diodes are released and ready for production. Samples are available immediately for design-in.
