TSOP4038 IR sensor

Extending its optoelectronics portfolio, Vishay Intertechnology Inc. has released a family of mid-range IR sensors featuring digital and analog outputs in three package types.

They include TSOP4038 and TSOP4Pthrough-hole packages with dimensions of 6mm x 6.9mm x 5.6 mm; TSOP58038 and TSOP5Pthrough-hole packages with dimensions of 5mm x 6.9mm x 4.8mm; and TSOP5038 and TSOP5P38SMD packages with dimensions of 5.3mm x 7.5mm x 4mm.

With a fast response time of 300?s and low supply current of 0.85mA, the detectors have a range of up to 30m when used as part of an interrupter design and a range of up to 3m when used as part of a reflective sensor.

The new IR sensors provide shielding against EMI and a supply voltage of 2.7 V to 5.5 V. To simplify designs, the devices feature a photo detector and preamplifier in one package, while visible light is suppressed by an internal IR filter. The components are compliant to RoHS 2002/95/EC and WEEE 2002/96/EC.

Pricing is $1 per piece. Samples and production quantities are available now, with lead times of 10 weeks for large orders.
