JCM15, JCK30 DC/DC converters

XP Power has extended its range of ultracompact low-power DC/DC converters. The 15W JCM15 comes in a tiny 25.4mm x 25.4mm metal package, with the 30W JCK30 being available in a metal case that measures just 50.8mm x 25.4mm.

These encapsulated PCB-mounted converters accommodate a wide 2:1 input voltage range, accepting either 9-18Vdc, 18-3618Vdc or 36-7518Vdc, covering the nominal inputs of +12-, +24- or +4818Vdc. Single output models provide +3.3-, +5-, +12- or +15Vdc, while the duals offer 5-, 12- or 15Vdc. All outputs are fully regulated to within 0.5 percent over all input and load conditions for the single output models and less than 1% for the dual outputs.

The JCK30 can operate at full output power from -40C to +50C, and the JCM15 up to +65C, without derating. With a maximum case temperature of +105C, no additional heat sinking or forced airflow is required making the converters suitable for most operating environments.

The convertors feature an input to output and I/O to case isolation of 1,600Vdc for up to 1min. Both models feature a remote on/off control line. This can be used to control the output rails or to sequence startup procedures. All units feature overvoltage and continuous short circuit protection.

Prices range from $34.32 for OEM quantities of single output JCM15 models, to $51.48 for JCK30 dual output models. Both series have a three-year warranty and are available from Newark or direct from XP Power.
