Troubleshooting software keeps the line running
Keywords:electronics production? placement machine? station software?
As an example, if a placement machine recognizes that a nozzle has become contaminated, it does not stop operation. Rather it initiates an automatic nozzle cleaning process (nozzle self-healing). If this does not do the job, the software triggers an automatic nozzle replacement, still without stopping the machine and with no operator assist.
If an operator assist becomes necessary, the monitor displays concrete information about the location and cause of the malfunction along with proposals for fixing it.
"Automated troubleshooting and visual support for assists by the operating staff make the electronics production process more efficient. Especially with regard to frequent assists such as 'Track empty', 'Nozzle dirty', 'Foil torn' or 'Fiducial not recognized', this kind of automation has a clear impact on the corresponding performance indicators," comments Johannes Justinger, product management, Siplace.
