EDA and IP vendor Synopsys Inc. and programmable logic supplier Lattice Semiconductor Corp. announced Tuesday (Aug. 10) a multi-year extension to the OEM agreement that enables Lattice to offer Synopsys' Synplify FPGA synthesis tools to customers.

Under the terms of the agreement, Lattice will provide specific versions of Synplify Pro and Synplify software as part of its programmable logic design environments, including the recently announced Lattice Diamond FPGA design environment, the companies said.

"The Synopsys Synplify and Synplify Pro synthesis products have been optimized to take full advantage of the unique architectural features of Lattice's programmable logic devices and provide designers with the quality of results and productivity required to address the needs of their markets," said Jeff Garrison, director of FPGA marketing at Synopsys in a statement.

Lattice has been offering customers access to Synplify tools through the OEM agreement for more than 10 years, according to the companies.

Synplify and Synplify Pro for Lattice are available now and can be obtained directly from Lattice through the Lattice Diamond and ispLEVER design software families, the company said.
