AuthenTec releases a software development kit (SDK) for developers to create applications around AuthenTec smart sensors and TrueSuite identity management software. The TrueAPI SDK lets developers quickly create applications or modify their existing applications to include biometric support that leverage AuthenTec's security and identity management features for notebook PCs and netbooks.

The SDK interfaces with the company's TruePrint smart sensors and TrueSuite software, enabling a wide range of new application possibilities that complement TrueSuite applications for replacing website logins and passwords, launching multiple favorite applications and websites, and/or locking files and folders with the single swipe of a finger. AuthenTec's TrueAPI is built for Microsoft's Windows 7 OS and the new Windows Biometric Framework. The world's leading notebook OEMs are shipping AuthenTec technology on multiple Windows 7-equipped PC models today, and the installed base of notebooks with AuthenTec's sensors exceeds 40 million units worldwide.
