Kontron Embedded Box PC CB 752

Kontron's Embedded Box PC CB 752 is adapted to operate in ambient temperatures from -15C to +60C. It is designed for use in applications in transportation, automation, medical, POS and digital signage, as well as in other unheated and non air-conditioned work environments that do not necessarily require the -40C to +85C E2 industrial temperature range.

The system was fully tested in the climate chamber and the use of the Intel Atom N270 processor technology and low-cost chipset makes the Box PC attractive with regard to price, compared to systems with full E2 approval.

The Kontron Embedded Box PC CB 752 features a fanless design in a aluminum chassis for MTBF specified at approximately 100,000 hours, which corresponds to continuous operation of about 11 years (24/7).

In addition to standard PC interfaces, the Kontron Embedded Box PC CB 752 offers industry-standard interfaces such as RS232, RS422/485, digital I/Os, an optional CAN interface and two GbE interfaces. For wireless communication, the Box PC is also available with an optional wLAN. Custom extensions are also possible via a Mini PCIe slot.

The Kontron Embedded Box PC CB 752 measures 75mm x 250mm x 160mm. The front housing has the following ports: two Gb LAN, four USB 2.0, two RS232, VGA and optional DVI, one CAN bus and one RS422/485. On the back side, the Embedded Box PC features two USB 2.0 ports and is HD audio ready. It can optionally integrate a WLAN with two rear-facing antennas and NVRAM.

The embedded box PC with 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 and 533 MHz FSB supports up to 2GB of DDR2 RAM. For data storage, a bay is available for a shock mounted 2.5-inch SATA HDD or SDD and a CF socket.

It is CE certified, UL suitable and supported operating systems include Linux, Microsoft Windows XP, Windows XP Embedded and Windows CE 6.0.
