The three-month average bookings figure for July increased by 11.4 percent from June and by 186 percent compared to July 2009, SEAJ said. The three-month average of worldwide billings in July was $962.5 million, up 2.3 percent from June and up 155 percent compared with July 2009.
July marked the fourth straight month that the SEAJ book-to-bill ratio improved after bottoming out at 1.07 in April. A book-to-bill ratio of 1.53 means that 153 yen worth of new orders was received for every 100 yen of product billed for the month.
