MEMSIC Inc., innovator of MEMS sensors and systems solutions, has just introduced its next-generation family of high-performance MEMS inertial systems. The VG800 vertical gyro is the first release in this new series of low-drift IMU products that challenge the price and accuracy of existing FOG-based IMUs. The VG800 incorporates advanced MEMS rate gyro and accelerometer technologies with MEMSIC's proprietary Kalman filter algorithms to provide a superior inertial measurement solution in integrated navigation systems, as well as in stabilization and control applications.
As an alternative to traditional technologies in applications requiring high-stability gyros, the VG800 is ideally suited to UUV/ROV control, camera & antenna stabilization, UAV autopilot, mapping and surveillance, and UGV guidance. Its highlighted specifications include: ARW 20,000 hr.
The VG800 will be available in September, 2010.
