VSS 2010 offers new tools for RF system designers

AWR Corp. has announced the release of its 2010 Visual System Simulator (VSS) software. The software gives new capabilities which enhance productivity of RF system designers. Features include time delay neural network (TDNN), advanced amplifier behavioral models for capturing memory effects and measurement data interchange format (MDIF) model support, as well as a new phased array element for radar design engineers.

Furthermore, improvements have been incorporated into the VSS RFATM architect tool, and new communication models and signal processing blocks have also been added as complement.

The VSS 2010 also features turbo decoders, with support for turbo codes used in 3G/4G standards such as cdma2000, IS856, WiMAX, and LTE, as well as with library/components that can be used for decoding of custom turbo codes; third-party integrations, such as R&S WinIQSIM2 waveform generation software integration and support for all standards and variants within VSS, including export to R&S K96 for OFDM standards analysis, and MATLAB co-simulation.
