The special purpose consumer analog market is expected to rebound this year after seeing a major dip in 2009, reports Databeans. The market watcher forecasts "hot" technologies in the video game, television entertainment, and audio segments to attract more purchases this year.

Databeans said that products such as motion-tracking game controllers, social networking-enabled television sets, 3D televisions, and e-book readers will boost sales of special purpose consumer analog products, including audio power amplifiers, analog front ends (AFE), video amplifiers, and motor control ICs, to $3 billion.

Two classes of audio power amplifiersClass AB and Class Dwill account for about a third of the $3 billion 2010 global market revenue, the report stated. Class AB amplifiers will make up more than 75 percent of revenue in the sector, it added.

Meanwhile, revenue from AFEs, which are used for input signals, is predicted to reach $342 million. Revenue from video amplifiers and motor control ICs, on the other hand, are expected to reach $192 million and $726 million, respectively.
