STMicroelectronics? newly launched STOD03A drives AMOLED and Super AMOLED display. It features enhancements over its predecessor, the STOD02.

The STOD03A utilizes a synchronous operation for both voltage outputs, attaining up to 85 percent overall efficiency and prolonging overall battery life. It also features other power-saving features such as automatic pulse-skipping operation for low power consumption at light loads, and a true shutdown mode drawing less than one microamp activated through its enable pin.

The STOD03A comes in a 3 x 3 x 0.6mm package. It has a 4.6V fixed positive output voltage, programmable negative output voltage from -2.4V to -5.4V and 200mA output current. ST claims accurate output voltages with low cellular noise.

The STOD03A is now in full production and is priced at $0.80 for orders of 1,000 units.
