Fairchild, Changhong expand product development partnership

Fairchild Semiconductor has partnered with Sichuan Changhong Electric Co. Ltd. to bring new new TV sets, set-top boxes, refrigerators, and air conditioners under the Changhong brand to China.
The two companies have signed a memorandum of agreement on product development six years after opening a joint laboratory. Farichild's high-voltage MOSFETs, Green FPS power switches, IGBTs, interface switches, diodes, logic devices and rectifiers are used in many of Changhong's consumer devices, which include LED, PDP, LCD and CRT TV sets.
Changhong TVs reportedly account for one-fourth of all TV sets in China.
