STMicroelectronics wins Nokia sustainability award

Nokia has recognized STMicroelectronics' efforts to ensure sustainable business operations by bestowing an award on the semiconductor chip manufacturer.

STMicroelectronics received the award for "Outstanding Achievement in the Category of Sustainability" during the Nokia Collaboration Day at Nokia World 2010 in London. "Nokia and STMicroelectronics have worked closely together over many years, sharing concepts and best practices for sustainability, most intensely within the area of environmental protection," said Jean-Francois Baril, Nokia's senior vice president and head of sourcing.

Andrea Cuomo, STMicroelectronics' executive vice-president for Europe, Middle East and Africa, welcomed the award and said that ST "continually endeavors to achieve excellence in quality, customer satisfaction and world-class environmental performance."
