Navigation button incorporates fingerprint authentication

The small and low-profile AES850, which was formerly codenamed Saturn, serves as a fast optical joystick and trackball-like cursor for menu navigation control with fingerprint authentication. It also adds security and personalization features, along with an "authenticate to wake" for user feature.
AuthenTec said the AES850 is designed using its new 8mm by 8mm TouchStones II package, with a high-definition 92 pixel by 8 pixel sensor array that produces a 500dpi resolution. The ultra-thin 1.2mm LGA package is placed in the center position above the QWERTY keypad, replacing navigation-only devices such as directional pads, trackballs or optical joysticks.
