Shrink licenses Corning's modular microfluidic system
Keywords:modular microfluidic system? Lab on a Chip?
Under the terms of the agreement, Shrink retains an exclusive right to use and sublicense the patent-pending technology for at least eight years. Shrink said in a statement that it plans to develop the system as a premium microfluidic product to be offered in North America, Europe and Asia.
Corning's modular microfluidic system, first published in the "Lab on a Chip" academic journal in 2008, is said to be the world's first fully functional plug and play modular microfluidics system for true integrated high PSI connectors, electronics and pumps. It has generated keen interest among developers of commercial research applications that require ultra-fast microfluidic design prototyping such as in the biochemical, biomedical and cell-based drug discovery sectors.
