Silicon Integration Initiative gets new member

Tanner EDA Inc. is now a member of the Silicon Integration Initiative (Si2), a non-profit consortium of industry-leading semiconductor, systems, EDA and manufacturing companies seeking to stardardize the design and manufacture of integrated circuits.

John Zuk, vice president of marketing and strategy for Tanner EDA, said the company joined the Si2 since one of its basic goals—EDA tool interoperability—is "central to our commitment to our products and our customers." "We intend to participate in the Open PDK and OpenAccess coalitions to collaborate and share Tanner EDA's 22 years of technological know-how," he added.

Si2, which is now on its 22nd year, believes that standardization will reduce time-to market, lower costs, and help meet the challenges of sub?m design.
