The Broadband World Forum conference in Paris highlighted the launch of BroadbandSuite 3.2.

Further improving on TR-069, the remote management standard for world-wide broadband, this release offers a new level in remote management flexibility and dynamic application allocation.

BroadbandSuite 3.2 is said to deliver enhanced CPE WAN Management Protocol (CWMP) and realizes a converged Device and Gateway Root Data Model. This release expands connected home remote management abilities to permit operators to bring new applications via the gateway. The improvements are designed to accommodate the plethora of new devices being introduced to the home, as well as to promote back office billing and operations integration. Written in XML, these specifications eliminate the potential for user interpretation error and provide new implementation ease of data models.

CEO of the Broadband Forum, Robin Mersh says, "BroadbandSuite 3.2 illustrates the pioneering and innovative role that we occupy in creating the tools and specifications to allow the industry to capitalize on the full potential of broadband amid ever-changing technology trends, opportunities and demands." He stresses, "Our goal is to anticipate and meet the needs of the industry and this new release helps us achieve that goal."

Broadband Forum is a non-profit industry organization focused on engineering smarter and faster broadband connections.
