GPON SoC supports Ethernet, VoIP, WLAN, IPTV

The BCM6818 solution is supported by Broadcom's residential gateway software that combines TR -069 with OpenManage Client Instrumentation (OMCI). The SoC is part of Broadcom's BCM6800 GPON residential gateway portfolio which uses the company's 400MHz dual core processor architecture. The portfolio supports hardware-assisted gigabit bridging and routing, hardware-assisted IPsec security for virtual private network (VPN) termination, gigabit switch and PHY devices, VoIP, support for USB 2.0 host and devices, and support for Broadcom's latest WLAN devices utilizing PCI Express. The BCM6800 GPON portfolio also complies with the Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA) standard.

The BCM6816 and BCM6800 family of residential gateway reference designs are now sampling to qualified early access customers. Pricing is available upon request.
