CFast flash memory headers enable design flexibility

CFast cards are small cartridges incorporating flash memory chips with SATA serial storage architecture. As small as existing CF cards, they offer faster throughput, lower power consumption and hot-swap functionality. CFast specifications call for 10,000 mating cycles to ensure high durability and long product life.

3M uses extended guide rails in its CFast cards o help minimize misalignment during card installations. Grounding clips boost the card's retention force to reduce the possibility of uncontrolled card removal from the connector when ejected. The single-row surface-mount co-planar tails allow for higher yields and easier inspections while boardmount headers come in either a low-profile configuration or with optional 2mm standoffs that allow the designer to populate the board underneath an inserted card.
