LED lighting solutions provider Cree Inc. has added new color rendering index (CRI) options to its XLamp XP-G and XP-E warm white LED portfolio.

The LED family now has 80, 85 and 90 CRI options for a wide range of lighting applications, including retail, medical and architectural, that require high color accuracy to properly render object colors. The new high-CRI XP-G and XP-E offers luminaire and fixture designers both high color quality and increased efficacy, the company said.

The new high-CRI XP-G offers luminous flux of up to 107 lumens at 350mA in warm white (3000K), with an efficacy of 102 lumens per watt. LED lamp designers can use it to create systems that are 70 percent more efficient than a traditional halogen PAR38 lamp and deliver similar high color rendering, according to Cree.

High-CRI XP-G and XP-E LEDs are similar to standard XP-G and XP-E LEDs, respectively, and may be integrated into existing systems without the need for a redesign. Like the standard XP-G and XP-E, the new LEDs offer LM-80 data approved by ENERGY STAR, are UL-recognized components under UL 8750 (E326295), and offer better thermal management properties.
