LDOs adjust output voltages down to 0.5V

"The ability to adjust output voltages down to 0.5V with input voltages as low as 1.1V, while supplying up to 3A of output current, make MIC61150 and the MIC61300 highly flexible solutions for low V(IN)/V(OUT) applications," notes Doyle Slack, director of analog marketing, Micrel. He adds that the "devices do not require an additional bias supply and therefore offer single supply/input voltage operation," simplifying design while decreasing BOM.
The LDOs operate over an input voltage range of 1.1V to 3.6V and feature ultra-low dropout voltages of 200mV and 350mV respectively, over the entire operating temperature range. They are available as a 1V fixed-output voltage option or as an adjustable output voltage option (adjustable down to 0.5V). The devices are stable with low-ESR ceramic output capacitors and include protection features such as thermal shutdown, current limiting and logic enable.
Offered in a low-profile, leadless 10-pin 3mm x 3mm MLF and in a 10-pin ePad MSOP, the devices operate at a junction temperature range of -40C to +125C.
The MIC61150 andMIC61300 are currently available in volume quantities with pricing starting at $1.58 and $2.53 respectively, for 1K units.
