Anadigics said its ALT6713 and AWT6321 PAs were chosen for the VL600, which will be offered by Verizon Wireless for its Long-Term Evolution (LTE) network. The VL600 will support the 700MHz LTE Band, as well as 1900MHz/800MHz EVDO bands for areas without LTE coverage. It is also backward compatible with the existing 3G networks.
The ALT6713 is a single-band HELP4 PA supporting 777-798MHz frequency range in a 10-pin 3x3x1mm package. It operates with 18% efficiency at 16dBm Pout and features a quiescent current of 3mA. The PA's leakage current in shutdown mode is less than 5A and it has integrated "daisy chainable" directional coupler with 19dB directivity. Three mode states maximize power-added efficiency at several power levels during the operation of an LTE device.
THe AWT6321, meanwhile, is a dual-band CDMA HELP2 PA supporting the cell (824-849MHz) and PCS (1850-1910MHz) bands. It is available in a 14-pin 3x5x1mm package. The device operates with 19% efficiency at 16dBm Pout and features a quiescent current of 15mA. It has common VMODE control line and simplified VCC Bus PCB routing.
