Vishay Intertechnology has introduced its ESD-protection array featuring low capacitance and leakage currents to protect USB-OTG ports against transient voltage signals. Its VBUS053CZ-HAF offers three lines of USB ESD protection at a 5.5V working range and one line of VBUS protection at a 28V working range.

The VBUS053CZ-HAF comes in the leadless LLP75-7L package, with an ultra-low profile of 0.6mm to minimize the board space needed for active ESD protection in high-speed data applications, such as USB 2.0 and HDMI in HDTVs and mobile electronics.

The device features a low load capacitance of 0.7pF for the three data lines D+, D-, and ID and a low maximum leakage current of 0.085 microamps at the working voltage of 3.3V and of 1 microamp at 5.5V. The device also provides transient protection as per IEC 61000-4-2 at 15kV contact and 15kV air discharge, as well as surge current protection in accordance with IEC 6100-4-5 from 3A. This device also has a halogen-free molding compound, compliant with RoHS 2002/95/EC and WEEE 2002/96/EC.

Availability: Samples are available now, with lead times of 6 to 8 weeks for large orders.
